Printed letterpress in orange and black inks on French Arches paper using hand-set 8 point Optima type. One illustration on frontispiece, letterpressed then hand-colored. Hand-bound with letterpress characters on brown-paper endpapers.

Limited to 125 copies, numbered and signed by Carol Cunningham. Of these 50 were in deluxe bindings of silk brocade with the five-toed Imperial dragon on the front. Forty-five were bound were in oriental-motif brocade over boards. Thirty of the printed books were never bound.

A miniature treatise on one of history’s great explorers who “did not tell half what I saw, for I knew it would not be believed”. The book includes some background on the younger Marco’s life in historical context, as well as a quote from the first 11 lines of Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s famous Kubla Khan poem.
