Book is 2 1/2 (height) x 2 1/4 (depth) inches. A handmade miniature book. Hand-set and letterpress printed on Rives paper using 10 pt. Cooper Black type and illustrated with linoleum cuts and hand coloring. Hand-bound in purple paper over boards, with color copy of a turnip pasted on cover and matching purple endpapers. Limited to 50 copies, numbered and signed by Carol Cunningham. A favorite childhood tale retold in verse form about a turnip that grew and grew. Carol remembered this story from hearing her dad read it to her when she was a child. Note the surprisingly agreeable use of Cooper Black—an unusually large typeface for the text block of such a tiny book! $75   |
