miniature book. Printed letterpress from hand-set Italian Oldstyle type
on paper handmade from Cogon grass in the Philippines. Numerous illustrations
made using printers blocks, several of which are hand-colored using wax
crayon and gold ink. Hand-bound in decorative cotton fabric over boards
with letterpressed spine label; navy blue endpapers decorated with blocked
prints of elephants.
Limited to 45 numbered copies, numbered and signed by Carol Cunningham.
The cover cloth (found at a remnant store) inspired this book—patterned
with elephants walking along beneath flowers. Carol has compiled facts,
lore, images, and poetry (including one of her own) about the imposing and
amazing elephant—her favorite animal. Perfect for anyone who collects
books about elephants, or those who appreciate the whimsy of having a miniature
